Drones Fly To The Construction Site

China's construction industry is rapidly promoting the application of drones. More than 1,300 construction sites in Guangzhou will be fully covered by drone inspections, using high-tech means to inspect various violations on the construction sites. As the construction industry continues to develop and construction projects become more complex, the application of drones in the construction industry continues to improve and deepen.

Application of drones in construction industry

Drones have aerial viewpoints and data collection capabilities, and can perform terrain mapping, remote monitoring and other tasks; photos, videos and images captured by drones can be used to determine the scope of the project, track construction progress, and update relevant information in real time. The real-time recording function and unique air superiority of drones can greatly improve construction efficiency, reduce project costs, and simplify work processes. Its advantages have gradually changed the entire process of engineering projects from start to finish.

1. Carry out topographic mapping and land survey

Topographic maps play an important role in the entire construction process. Construction workers can eliminate wrong plans based on topographic maps drawn in advance and reduce trial and error costs. Traditional surveying and mapping methods are expensive and require a long production cycle. Compared with traditional surveying and mapping methods, drones can complete survey tasks in only 15 to 30 minutes, saving up to 20 times the cost, and can update data in real time in the future.

2. The data collected by drones can help determine the feasibility of the solution and assist designers in designing. In addition, the construction team can use drone software to stitch maps into a three-dimensional model, which can effectively reduce the time of on-site terrain survey and help the project advance as planned.
